Special events in January
Start the year off right by supporting local comedy! Bath for Europe are putting on an EU-themed night of comedy at Widcombe Social Club on the 17th, featuring headliner Viv Groskop and some fantastic local acts. It’s going to be a smashing night, particularly if you’re of the anti-Brexit persuasion.
Then return to the Widcombe Social Club for Bon Bon’s Bonkers Burns Night on the 25th, where you’ll have the chance to celebrate with tartan tableware, haggis, whisky, and headliner Claus Reiss, a Danish stand-up comedian and highland piper!
Just the one tour show at Komedia Arts Cafe this month, it’s Fern Brady with her Edinburgh show Suffer, Fools! It’s a stunning hour of incisive, sharp and relentless comedy, and well worth seeing on the 18th here in Bath.
The Theatre Royal also has exciting tour shows to offer, with Showstoppers! The Improvised Musical performing a small run from the 22nd to the 24th, Shappi Khorsandi’s show Mistress and Misfit on the 26th, and David Baddiel’s My Family: Not The Sitcom on the 28th.
West Gate Comedy Night is back from Tuesday the 16th! With our usual compere Pete Jones, we’ll be showcasing a lineup of local (and occasionally not so local) legends every Tuesday, and it’s absolutely free!
Our other regular favourite, the monthly New Act Night at Komedia, will be returning in February.
